Prepare installation areas for new networks with AC power to DC rectifier equipment converting AC power to DC power in Data Centers making DC power readily available for DC Panel BDFB equipment and feeds to support new power capacity, and energize new networks prior to installation deployments.

 

·               Appointed as a lead Network and Power Installer on Network deployments

·               Train new employees in Google data centers and remote peering sites

·               Assist Project Managers with status update reports and interact with Project Team to meet expectations dates

 

Build new network capacity for Deployments. Perform full scale OSP Site Audits of Google’s proprietary network and power infrastructure in the US Region. Perform data entry of new network capacity and after network migrations to reflect accurate as­builts.

 

Provide field support for emergency equipment repairs, re­direction of live traffic, network and system integrations between multiple Data Centers and Collocate Peering Centers. Perform delivery acceptance, inventory accountability, logistics tracking, Network Decommissions and equipment shipment.

Perform site survey visits to inspect prior to Deployments in order to understand actual material needs and distance of circuits and fiber cabling. Measure cage, cabinet and rack space. Audit and document the existing utilized power and available power.

Managed a 650 mile assigned network territory between San Francisco’s, CA Bay Area Metro, San Joaquin Valley to Sacramento and back.

 

This route included 2 company data centers, central office hubs, Remote POP Shelters and Collocation sites. Systems installations and turn­up of the networks. Provided remote field support via 24/7/365 to Company Clients on their Private Circuit and Equipment in controlled collocate environments.

 

·               Managed customer building site access where their network and equipment were hosted

·               Supported Network Designers via auditing and performing site surveys

 

UPS & MDFB – Power Plant equipment conversion from AC to DC power. Recorded and documented monthly power readings on UPS, main commercial power meter, MDFB and BDFB. Engineered power distribution for proper load sharing balance. Documented total power KVA readings of input and output on UPS. Kept audits and strong documentation on site for power usage analysis and energy consumption. Helped implement step by step documentation for disaster recovery. On call 24/7/365 since commencement of employment.

 

Worked and participated in Lab environments to assure readiness of new equipment before turning up access onto the live network. Recommended diverse routing when needed to protect the network. Tested and new circuits before hand­off to the NOCC and Surveillance Team. Wrote and scheduled MOP’s and Scheduled Maintenance PCR’s.

 

Verified building space, facility power availability and building conduits’ access to support new circuit builds. Installed and terminated DC Power. Monitored network remotely. Documented network changes in the field. Performed audits on equipment and optical port assignments. Documented monthly maintenance logs on assigned network territory area.

 

OSP – Outside Plant – Recorded OTDR traces company owned dark fiber section path, identify reliable dark fibers during emergency network restorations and emergency rolls while locating damaged area.

 

Managed and Coordinated – Access for all Vendors to DATA Center sites for preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, generators, battery and fire suppression systems.

 

HVAC Systems – Monitored the operation of 10 LEIBERT 50 TON HVAC Units. Performed monthly PM’s to ensure cooling efficiency.

 

Fire Suppression – Managed the fire suppression systems, interfaced with alarm companies and managed environment alarm transmission accuracy for Surveillance Team.

 

Generators – (Caterpillar Diesel Engines with 1.75 KVA power capacity). Verified that fuel supply was never below 50 percent. Performed monthly PM maintenance including on ATS or Auto Transfer Switch.
